How to get message across?

We are so blessed to be here in Reno doing Campo the way we dreamed! We received 9 awards from the RNR and that blew us away! We have been to PBFW, LAFW and are doing the headline dinner at Yosemite Chefs Holiday’s in Jan 2013. We have amazing staff who really care and really want to go to Italy on a trip. The management team is over the top talented and passionate about what we do here. We want to be a great restaurant AND get RENO on the map for dining. There are so many new and great places opening up here in Reno and we could not be happier!

All that being said we are NOTHING without our Products. The Meats, Fish, Produce, Dry Goods, Coffee, Breads, Desserts, Drinks, Wines, Water, etc……so much I could go on and on. There was a time when i would list each and every farmer and farm on the menu by the item we were serving. We would have no room if we did that. Then it would read like a map and not a menu! I think to a person here, when you come to Campo, we can and will always tell you about the Farm and where each item came from. If you want to know more, what is a good way for us to tell you? We have been tossing around ideas internally. Any outside suggestions are welcome. We are rolling out a program that The Abbi Agency has been working on all summer. We will introduce you to these farmers, producers, tell their story in their words. Show you recipes and a glimpse of what they do. Look for this end of September.

It is sooooo important to think about food in more than fill your belly way. Where is was grown, what it was grown in or what it was fed, how was it treated or what was it treated with, who are the people that raised or grew it, how did they get it to the restaurant or store, what happened then, was it cared for properly, cooked or stored or produced, who is serving it to you, or who are you buying it from…..this is a small way to start to ask the questions.

The message is so large, but if we bite off a little at a time, I think we can get it across!

Check out a ground breaking program right here in Reno

My husband and I have tried several times to visit Campo, and each time have been turned away for one reason or another. Yesterday (Sunday, 9/16), I called to make dinner reservations and left a voicemail message at 1:50 p.m. I also made reservations online. When we arrived at your establishment just before 5 p.m. (we had theater tickets so were planning to eat early), we were again turned away because of a private party. While I appreciate your popularity, I find it inexcusable that no one called me back to let me know that the restaurant was not open last evening. I realize that we are just 2 individuals, that will neither make nor break this business. We LOVED Moody’s in Truckee, and realized a while ago that Mark had sold that business. We’ve heard nothing but good things about Campo, but given the fact that we’ve made several attempts, we have not had any success, and feel very inconvenienced by this latest faux pas on your end. I felt compelled to let you know… I doubt we’ll consider Campo for future. But then again, who knows?

What a great presentation @ Harrah’s food event. So glad we came and had a chance to enjoy the day. Looking forward to trying your restaurant. You are a great speaker. What can I buy ( sausage) at your restaurant?
